So,above are the promises of GEJ to Nigerians during his campaign. I would like to say whatever I say here is not because I have some interests in some other politicians, I do not even like politicians at all,I see no difference in their ways of acting and thinking but I must confess that GEJ has disappointed we Nigerians by not fulfilling any of his promises, its one year already. He never mentioned he will remove fuel subsidy.
Good leaders respect their people...Is this what politics has become in this country that our leaders do not bother to work towards fulfilling those promises???Should we now start to expect everything our politicians say are lies???
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: Politicians are a group of men who do not have the interests of the people
and are one long step far from being called honest men.

JAMES IBORI: WHAT NOTABLE LEGAL PRACTICIONERS THINK...
Some prominent Nigerian lawyers have made some salient points regarding the recent allegation of £20, 000 recieved from the former Governor of Delta State!, James Ibori by a British metropolitan police, stating that Britain should worry more on the image of their country and not Nigeria since such act is not new to Nigeria.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Prof. Itse Sagay, affirmed the effect of the bribery on Nigeria would be quite minimal compared to how it would affect Britain and its government..
“Nigeria has no reputation to lose in this case. The country is already known worldwide for corruption. Nigeria is close to the top on the list of corrupt countries. It is the UK that has something to lose. It is a stain on their reputation that one of their police officers could take bribe from a suspect who comes from a developing nation,” he said.
In a more related opinion, Emeka Ngige, (SAN) said the bribery case indicated that is not just limited to Nigeria, but a global phenomenon.
“It is not a Nigerian problem. It is the UK’s problem. This goes to show that corruption is a global phenomenon. There is no country that does not have corrupt people. It only depends on how the government of each country handles it. In the Nigerian police, corruption is the norm; it is the culture.
“And I’m sure if Nigerians hear it in the news that a Nigerian Police officer collected bribe to reveal information to a suspect, it would not be news to them. But in the UK, they would shudder, and you will see how their government would handle this,” he conclude.
Another Senior Advocate, Mike Igbokwe asserted that the bribery case clearly indicated that Nigerian politicians were capable of manipulating their ways under any circumstance with the task payers’ money.
“I’m not in support of corrupt practices in anyway and what Ibori and his agents did was very wrong and illegal. But I believe this has shown that corruption is everywhere. Nowadays, the British Metropolitan Police can no longer be said to be ‘saints’.
“The noise that the British police and their government make about African countries being corrupt no longer has any basis. British police have to redeem their image.
“This is also an indication that this is what Nigerian politicians do with public funds; bribing their way in and outside the country,” he said.
And on a contrary opinion, human rights activist, Femi Falana, said the new developments regarding the Ibori’s saga will continue to put Nigeria into shame.
Falana said, “He was allowed to become a governor- the judiciary in Nigeria has been exposed to unprecedented ridicule. It is a shame that a man that was convicted in 1991, 1992 and 1995, for fraud and related offenses, became a governor in defiance of the Constitution. As the Ibori story is not concluded, the leading ambassador of a kleptomaniac
ruling elite is going to continue to shame the country,”
I don't want to talk much about this, every man has a right to his opinion but...I will still say this.
James Ibori is a jail-bird and has made a mess of our already messed-up political and judicial system but I personally do not agree with Sagay about Nigeria not having any image to protect. As a SAN,he should not say that,Its a senseless talk. UK definitely has a lot to lose but it doesn't mean Nigeria stands to lose nothing like Sagay said.
I respect Femi Falana for his sensible analysis of what happened,he has proven himself to be an intelligent law advocate,Kudos to him!!!
I'm praying and waiting for that day when we Nigerians will think right, see things right and speak wisely so we can dominate the country and exercise the power we have to enjoy Nigeria as Citizens.

LIFE IS SHORT
life is short.....
What makes you think you have time?
To even read this poem down to last rhyme
Every assurance you have will fade
The darkness that comes;appears first as a light shade
One life;we have, but plenty decisions to make
To live,or to die,to share or to hold,to sleep or remain awake
Once a choice is made out of the lot
Always remember,life is short
I could touch a hundred lives and still be 20
I could maim a thousand and just be 10
An account must be made, remember the fool at forty
What would be said of u then?
We all have a purpose,we were made for a reason
And we would manifest in due season
But what we nourish this purpose with,is what really matters
Even the smallest stone touches glass and it shatters
We sleep we dream,we hope we wake
We rise at dawn, another day to take
And count 24 as the hours vanish
And are served,once again,our dreams;oh we lavish
But we fail to acknowledge the ticking clock
And the hand that writes &keeps taking stock
Of what we do as the day dies out
What if morning never comes, would you freak out?
I wish I could know the day I'll die
The day my breathe can't save me,and I'll give my last sigh
Would it be of relief or filled with grief?
Would it be "rest to my feet" or a sigh of defeat?
So as long as I live I have one thing in mind
Touch lives,be positive, leave the hurt behind
Let the world remember me...not for who I was,but for what, through me the world became
.......Can you say the same?
Make your choices wisely
You're intelligent enough to know what is& is not
Don't get carried away....LIFE is SHORT

THE REAL CAUSE OF OUR PROBLEMS.
Nigeria is a great nation, there is no doubt about that. A country with so much resources and natural endowment but the nation has so far failed to live up to its standard. Nigeria is one of the poorest countries in the world with a per capital income of around one thousand US dollars, over 100 million Nigerians live on less than a dollar per day! This is to tell you the extent to which Nigerians are suffering. A country that produces 3 million barrels of crude oil everyday, there are no good roads, the educational system is bad,Nigeria's economy is depleting, the workers are not well paid. All these and some that were not mentioned happen in Nigeria and so many including myself have been very hard on those in government, they have the most blame but its not just them. @ While searching for the solution to a problem, the first thing to do is find out how it all started which is what I will do now, examine the cause. WE NIGERIANS DO NOT LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Love is very essential in every society that wants to progress but love is completely missing in Nigeria, every individual is concerned about himself/herself and family only so how on earth do we expect to experience true development with such a spirit. I want to go into few instances where Nigerians have displayed lack of love for others. @ Fuel subsidy issue caused lot of controversy at the beginning of the year. It was removed suddenly and unjustifiably by the present administration. Immediately the removal of fuel subsidy was announced, traders stopped selling immediately in anticipation of an increase in prices of goods so they can make excess profit, you can call it business but it was a terrible display. Petrol dealers were unfair, they too stopped selling the fuel they had at the same time they refused to buy because the price had risen to N150 per litre, they immediately started to sell the petrol at a price thrice what they bought it. When the price of petrol was lowered, they found it difficult to bring the prices down,LACK OF LOVE!When some Nigerians were on the streets fighting for the rights of all Nigerians, some were busy selling pure water at the rate of N10 per one, they had bags at home!!!The struggle was surprisingly jeopardized by the NLC and TUC ,ANOTHER DISPLAY OF LACK OF LOVE!!! @ Please tell me,should a senator earn what a medical doctor would earn in 365 years in a year???In the same country where a legislator is earning more than the US president, another worker is earning as low as N18,000 in a month. Does this portray love???If only we loved ourselves, workers will need not go on strike before the government pays them what they deserve, the president spends N3 million on his feeding everyday but over 100 million nigerians live on less than a dollar per day,DO YOU CALL THAT LOVE???The people rightly protested against inhuman decision to remove fuel subsidy, the FG unleashed soldiers to oppress them,A PEACEFUL PROTEST!!!NO LOVE!!! @ There have been series of bombings in the country of recent and the development is as a result of lack of love in our country. Why on earth will some people find joy in the pains and sorrows of others???What on earth does any man think he stands to gain from killing another person???Why exactly have those in government kept saying they are in control while people are being killed? Is the FG truly helpless or just not concerned about the lives of Nigerians. Whatever the answers you give these questions,we still go back to that problem,NO LOVE!!! _ In conclusion,in our bid to find a solution(lasting) to our infinite problems in this country, the simple solution might just be LOVE,let us learn to live in PEACE,UNITY AND HARMONY and all work towards a better NIGERIA, COME ON NIGERIANS...LOVE IS THAT MISSING THING WE MUST FIND!!!
